Detention of Journalist Nisreen Salem

An Israeli occupation court has extended the detention of Jerusalem-based journalist Nisreen Salem al-Abd until Sunday, after occupation police filed an appeal against her release order.
On Thursday, the court had ordered Salem’s release under strict conditions: seven days of house arrest, a complete ban on social media and all communications for the duration, and a cash bail of 2,000 shekels. Occupation police appealed the decision, and the court accepted the appeal, extending her detention until Sunday.
Israeli occupation forces arrested al-Abd on February 15 on al-Zahra Street in Jerusalem while she was working as a journalist. Throughout her detention, the court extended her remand multiple times on charges of incitement and working with a banned media outlet. Occupation forces also raided her home in the Old City and destroyed its contents.
