Damon Female Prisoners Subjected to Repression Over Use of “Spoons”

One Female Prisoner Suffering from Continuous Bleeding and Medical Neglect

The Prisoners’ Media Office has confirmed that female prisoners at Damon Prison were subjected to a violent raid and repression following allegations of a “sharp object” being present inside the section, only for it to later emerge that the prisoners had merely used spoons to prepare a salad dish.

The Office clarified, citing private sources, that the repression occurred on 20 January 2026 during the afternoon hours, when prison units stormed the section containing three rooms. Specifically, Room 1 and Room 2 were raided, food was thrown onto the floor, and the female prisoners were forced to the ground and made to place their hands above their heads.

The sources added that, following the search, the prison administration confiscated all spoons, classifying them as “sharp objects,” and replaced them with poor-quality plastic spoons. Collective punishments were also imposed, including deprivation of recreation time until the following day.

The sources further indicated that the living conditions of the female prisoners are severe, marked by poor food quality and insufficient quantities, acute suffering from cold weather, and shortages of clothing and blankets. Additionally, bathroom use during recreation time is restricted to between 40 minutes and one hour only.

The Prisoners’ Media Office warned of deliberate medical neglect against one of the female prisoners who is suffering from continuous uterine bleeding without receiving treatment, despite the prison administration’s full knowledge of her condition and her need for surgical intervention. The Office held the occupation fully responsible for the safety of the female prisoners and for the repression and violations to which they are being subjected.
