Occupation Sentences Prisoner Ibrahim Shalhub to Life Imprisonment

An Israeli court has issued a life imprisonment sentence against prisoner Ibrahim Ayoub Shalhub from the town of Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, in addition to imposing a fine of 380,000 shekels, on the allegation of responsibility for the killing of a settler in the city of Herzliya during December 2024.

Prisoner Shalhub was shot following his arrest by occupation forces, within the framework of the policy of field executions practiced by the occupation against Palestinians, before being transferred to detention and subjected to trial under a judicial system employed as an instrument of retribution and abuse against prisoners.

The Prisoners’ Media Office confirms that the sentence issued against prisoner Ibrahim Ayoub Shalhub raises the number of prisoners serving life sentences in Israeli occupation prisons to 116 prisoners, reflecting the escalation of the policy of harsh and punitive sentencing against Palestinian prisoners.

The Office emphasizes that occupation courts continue to utilize the judiciary as a tool for collective punishment and political deterrence, in the complete absence of standards of justice, and amid the continued targeting of the prisoner movement through life sentences and exorbitant financial fines.
