He is still in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leg was amputated at the Israeli hospital Shaare Zedek after his health deteriorated in the occupation&#8217;s prisons, where his medical care was poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beit Jala Government Hospital received the severed leg and entered it into its official records. Staff there began the formal procedures required to follow the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Occupation forces arrested Hamid in Tuqu in February 2026. He had already been wounded. His condition worsened in detention, and he was transferred to Shaare Zedek for treatment, where his foot was amputated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doctors Without Borders informed the family of the amputation. The organization continues to follow his condition with the institutions handling his case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leg is buried in Tuqu.
