Khaled Ali Daoud, known as Khaled al-Saifi, died just one week after his release from Israeli occupation prisons. He was from Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem and served as executive director of the Ibda’ Foundation in the camp. He had spent four months in detention, during which his health severely deteriorated as a result of the harsh conditions he endured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon his release last week, al-Saifi was immediately taken to the Istishari Hospital for treatment. His health had already declined sharply. He never recovered, and his death was announced as a direct consequence of the suffering and medical neglect he experienced behind bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al-Saifi had been transferred to Ramla prison hospital after his condition became critical. The occupation released him only after confirming he was near death. A Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance transported him directly to the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah. He did not leave the hospital alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His death is a direct outcome of the medical killing policy the occupation practices against Palestinian prisoners: deliberate neglect, denial of treatment, and exposure to the worst forms of physical and psychological torture and starvation. These practices have transformed occupation prisons into environments that threaten prisoners’ lives, in full view of a world and its institutions that claim to uphold humanitarian values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
